What Happens When The Flowers Die?
By Allison Schaub
Dedicated to Jewel, a wonderful dog and litter mate of Daisy

Bright Jeweled flowers surround,
a loved one is Heaven bound.
Crowds of people come full of care,
you’re only filled with grief and despair.
Heart broken and shredded,
going home alone being dreaded.

What happens when the flowers die?
When the people leave you alone to cry?
Left alone to face your grief,
imagining the spirit flutter away like a leaf.
Petals fade and fall away,
life has changed forever in a day.

A single small Daisy left all alone,
the only bright thing left in this home.
Its Jeweled petals will eventually fade from sight,
but hopefully not this everlasting night.
Darkness surrounds this beautiful flower,
Blackness of Despair becomes the greatest power.

While we at home try to carry on,
the spirit rises and is gone.
Heavens gates open wide,
the loved one flows in, is bound and tied,
to the eternal Love,
of God above.

“Guardians Of The Night”

Trust in me my friend for I am your comrade. I will protect you with my last breath When all others have left you And the loneliness of the night closes in, I will be at your side.

Together we will conquer all obstacles, And search out those who might wish harm to others. All I ask of you is compassion, The caring touch of your hands. It is for you that I will unselfishly give my life And spend my nights unrested. Although our days together May be marked by the passing of the seasons Know that each day at your side is my reward.
My days are measured by The coming and going of your footsteps. I anticipate them at every opening of the door. You are the voice of caring when I am ill. The voice of authority when I’ve done wrong.
Do not chastise me unduly For I am your right arm, The sword at your side. I attempt to do only what you bid of me. I seek only to please you and remain in your favor.

Together you and I shall experience A bond only others like us will understand When outsiders see us together Their envy will be measured by their disdain.

I will quietly listen to you And pass no judgment, Nor will your spoken words be repeated I will remain ever silent, Ever vigilant, ever loyal. And when our time together is done And you move on in the world Remember me with kind thoughts and tales, For a time we were unbeatable, Nothing passed among us undetected.

If we should meet again on another street I will gladly take up your fight, I am a Police Working Dog and together We are guardians of the night.

Ryder Wind Corbiere also known as Bubby to those who loved him passed away unexpectedly Saturday in front of his home in Monroe.

Ryder touched the lives of everyone around him in a magical way. He had the most gentle, loving spirit. He melted your heart because his love was so contagious. Ryder spent many days playing and chasing his best friends Baby, Zoey, Rocky and loved to bark at Cleo. He enjoyed eating, napping, and tossing balls into the air. He loved to be picked up and held, digging in blankets, towels, and dirt; he also loved to be cuddles at night in front of the television. More recently he enjoyed being a father and playing with his puppies. Ryder will be remembered for his ability to brighten anyone’s day, he never failed to put a smile on someone’s face and make them laugh. He was truly one of a kind, the best friend anyone could ask for.

He will be sadly and forever missed by Mom: Shauna, Dad: Rob, Grandma: Diane, Uncle Shane, Uncle Mark, Uncle Jamie, and Aunt Shannon, his buddies: Baby, Zoey, Rocky, and Cleo, his puppies Ritsey, Chancey, and Junior and all those who knew him in our hearts he’ll remain.

He joined in heaven Harlee and Grandpa Larry.
